The S300 Mini safety laser scanner can only fulfill its safety mission if it is implemented in a compliant manner both from a cabling and installation point of view:

• Electrical control of the machine, installation or vehicle control must be provided.

• The dangerous situation of the machine, plant or truck must be able to return to a safe state at any time via the OSSD outputs of the S300 Mini Standard, i.e. before a person reaches the station hazardous work or hazardous area.

Or :

The dangerous situation of the machine, plant or truck must be able to return to a safe state at any time via the OSSD outputs of a safety controller connected to an S300 Mini Remote or via the OSSD outputs of another safety laser scanner.

• The S300 Mini must be installed to detect objects entering the danger zone.

• The optical path of the safety laser scanner must be free at all times and must not pass through transparent objects such as protective films, Plexiglas, lenses, etc. The safety function of the safety laser scanner can only be guaranteed if the contamination measurement function is not circumvented by the use of such methods.
