Motorola is an American company, founded in 1928 by Paul Galvin. Specialized in electronics and telecommunications, the company is based in Schaumburg in the suburbs of Chicago in the United States.

It adopted the name Motorola in 1930. In 1941, it marketed the SCR-300 military walkie-talkie.

Motorola was one of the first companies to design and market cell phones.
