The device consists of a laser scanner (laser and optical diode), an electronic unit with integrated decoder and interfaces to industrial bus systems (depending on type). The use of various focuss, resolutions, reading methods, bus systems, mounting options and optics enables numerous industrial applications. Interfaces to external clock generators such as photoelectric sensors or incremental encoders for a control-independent read cycle. The reading results are made available for further analysis by the data interfaces. Codes can in principle be identified on any side of a fixed or moving object on a carrier (one-sided reading). The combination of several devices makes it possible to identify several sides during the same passage (multi-side reading). The device creates a reading line to identify the codes (single line reader). If it is a multi-frame reader, the device creates eight parallel read lines. The length of the read line that can be used for analysis (height of the read field) depends on the read distance due to the V-shaped light emission. The light sample reflected by the barcode is recorded , processed and decoded. External sensors provide read cycle and transport speed (increment) information to drive this procedure. The read results are transmitted to the data interfaces of the device and sent to a host/PC.

Safety and comfort for the user:

• Robust and compact metal casing, CE mark

• Laser class 2, laser shutdown when output power is exceeded

• Self-test at system startup

• Diagnostic tools for system configuration and (remote) monitoring

• Configurable output of read diagnostic data in two read result formats

• Consultation of operating data, in the event of an error editing of the error code on request

•Activatable test sequence function (heartbeat) for signaling the operational status

• Password-protected configuration mode via SOPAS ET

• Future-proof by updating firmware (flash-PROM) via data interface

• Future-proof SOPAS ET configuration software

•Low power consumption

• Wider supply voltage range

• Optional parameter cloning with the external parameter recording module CMC600 in the CDB / CDM connection module

Easy to use/setup

• Configuration (online/offline) with the SOPAS ET configuration software

• Configuration via GSD parameterization (via CDF600-2xx or device of the “Ethernet” version)

• Status display with LEDs

• Automatic configuration of optical reading characteristics

• Profile programming with barcodes, created and printed with SOPAS ET

• Deactivatable buzzer for confirmation of device operation

Reading Styles

• Start/stop mode (one barcode object per read cycle)

Reading Cycle

• Clock sources for starting: switching inputs; data interface (command); free automatic cadence, CAN

• Timing sources for stop: read cycle source, switching inputs, data interface (command), timer, condition

Barcode analysis

• All common 1D barcode types

• Maximum number of barcodes: 50 per scan interval

• Separation of identical codes of the same type using the reading angle

Data processing

• Influence of reading data editing by event-dependent analysis conditions

• Influence of the editing sequence by editing sorting and filtering possibilities

Data communication

• Host interface: two configurable data output formats, switchable on different physical interfaces, parallel mode possible

• Aux interface: fixed data editing format, switchable to different physical interfaces
