SM-Encoder Plus
The SM-Encoder Plus module allows the drive to use the signal from a second incremental type encoder (reference signal, synchronization, etc.). This module is compatible with several types of encoders: - quadrature incremental, - frequency/direction incremental, - forward/reverse incremental.
Footprint
The SM-Encoder Plus module can be integrated into the entire UNIDRIVE SP range and therefore does not change the size of the drive.
The SM-Encoder Plus module is powered directly by the drive. However, the maximum output current is limited to 300 mA (5V supply) or 200 mA (8V or 15V supply), including the consumption of the encoder connected to the drive. If the drive power supply is overloaded, use an external power supply connected to terminals 7 and 8 of the module. The module sampling time (parameter update) SM-Encoder Plus is 4 ms. However, this time is increased in the following cases: - if an SM-I/O module is integrated into the drive, add 8 ms to the sampling time, - if another SM-Encoder Plus module is integrated into the drive, add 4 ms to the sampling time, - if an SM-Resolver module is integrated into the drive, add 4 ms to the sampling time
