On a Unidrive type variable speed drive, the timing functions necessary for the correct operation of the power devices is ensured by its own microprocessor operating in real time. This places limits on the microprocessor when performing other tasks, resulting in reduced drive flexibility. To maximize this flexibility, a second processor can be used to run application-specific software. This second microprocessor is the UD70 which makes it easy to adapt the drive to applications by software programming in the UD70.
