The Quantum CPU is a module residing on the Quantum local I/O backplane. The CPU is a digitally operating electronic system, which uses a programmable memory for the internal storage of user instructions. These instructions are used to implement specific functions such as:
- Logic
- Process sequencing
- Timing
- Coupling
- Arithmetic
These instructions allow control through digital and analog outputs, for various types of machines and processes.
The Quantum CPU serves as a bus master controlling the local, remote, and distributed I/O of the Quantum system.
The 140 CPU 311 10 module has two three-position slide switches. The left switch, in the up position, serves to protect the memory; the memory is not protected when this switch is in the down position.
The right three-position slide switch is used to select the communication parameters of the Modbus ports.
The 140 CPU 434 12A, 140 CPU 534 14A and 140 CPU 534 14B modules have a single three-position switch used to select Modbus (RS-232) port communication parameters.
SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC is a French industrial group with international dimension, which manufactures and offers electricity management products, automation and solutions adapted to these trades.
Having consolidated its financial base thanks to the arrival of new shareholders and the simplification of its structures, Schneider began its redeployment at the end of the 1980s. Having joined Merin Gerin in the group (1986), the general management embarked on a acquisition strategy, marked by the integration of important companies that will become the core of the current group:
Télémécanique (1988)
Square D (1991)
Merlin Gerin (1992)
Modicon (1996)
