BK2020 - Lightbus Bus Coupler - BECKHOFF
This BECKHOFF BK2020 bus coupler is a BK2 series terminal.
BK2020: 24Vdc, 70mA,
This BECKHOFF coupler is at your disposal to replace your defective equipment and has a guarantee adapted to your needs.
The "Economy plus" bus coupler BK2020 connects the Lightbus system to the electronic terminal blocks, which can be extended modularly. A unit consists of a bus coupler, any number of terminals up to 64 and an end terminal. With K-bus expansion technology, the BK2020 allows up to 255 spatially distributed bus terminals to be connected to one Bus Coupler. The "Economy plus" series supports all bus terminals in the Beckhoff system. It can process in its complete configuration 1020 digital signals and a maximum of 128 analog input and output channels per slave. The Bus Coupler recognizes the connected terminals and automatically generates input/output assignments to process image bytes. The first input/output signal is inserted in the first bit of a byte (LSB), starting from the left. The bus coupler inserts other signals into this byte. Inputs and outputs are clearly separated. The bus coupler automatically starts an additional byte if the number of inputs or outputs exceeds 8 bits. The Lightbus system is a fast and safe serial fieldbus system. The Lightbus has a ring structure; up to 254 stations can be operated in a ring. Easy-to-use standard fiber optic technology is used for data transmission, representing excellent value. Thanks to an optimized and efficient telegram structure, the Lightbus achieves a very high user data transmission rate. For the exchange of 32-bit information requires a transmission time of 25 µs. Thanks to the high-speed access mode used by the Lightbus, it is possible to access specific peripheral data and read or write only the required data. Data is exchanged with the required priorities without producing overhead.
Interfaces
There are six ways to establish a connection with a bus coupler. These interfaces are designed as connectors and spring terminals.
POWER SOURCE
The bus couplers require a 24 V DC service supply which is connected via the uppermost spring terminals, marked "24 V" and "0 V". This power supply not only serves the electronics of the bus coupler, but (via the K-bus) also the bus terminals. The bus coupler supply circuits and that of the K bus are electrically isolated from the voltage of the ground level
