BSH servo motors offer an excellent response to high dynamic needs. Five flange sizes and different lengths provide a solution suitable for the majority of applications and cover a range of continuous torques at standstill from 0.21 to 33.4 Nm for speeds up to 9000 min-1.

The new technology of its windings based on salient poles gives BSH servo motors great compactness with high power density compared to conventional servo motors.

BSH servo motors are certified “Recognized” by Underwriters Laboratories and comply with UL1004 standards as well as European directives (e marking).

They are available with the following variants:

• 5 flange sizes: 40, 55, 70, 100 and 140 mm/1.57, 2.28, 2.76, 3.94 and 5.51 in,

• 2 degrees of protection of the shaft end: IP 50 or IP 65 in accordance with standard IEC/EN 60529; the degree of protection of the carcass is IP 65 (IP 67 with the conformity kit offered as an option),

• with or without parking brake,

• straight or angled connectors for power and encoder connection,

• SinCos Hiperface® single-turn or multi-turn encoder, medium or high resolution,

• smooth or keyed shaft end.

BSH servo motors have been developed to meet the following main requirements:

• Ambient operating temperature: - 20...+ 40 °C/- 4...+ 104 °F without derating, in accordance with standard IEC 60721-3-3, category 3K3 and up to 55 °C/ 131°F with derating from 40°C/104°F by 1% of rated output power per additional °C,

• Maximum altitude of use: 1000 m/3280 ft without derating, 2000 m/6561 ft with k = 0.86 and 3000 m/9842 ft with k = 0.8 (1).

• The relative humidity supported by the servo motor meets the IEC 60721-3-3 standard, categories 3K3, 3Z12 and 3Z2,

• The windings offer insulation class F (limit winding temperature 155°C/311°F) in accordance with standard IEC 60034-1,

• Authorized mounting positions: horizontal (IMB5) or vertical mounting (IMV1 with shaft end in the upper part and IMV3 with shaft end in the lower part) according to standard IEC 60034-7.

BSH servo motors can be equipped with an electromagnet parking brake with a lack of current.

BSH servo motors are equipped with a high-resolution SinCos Hiperface® single-turn (131,072 points/turn) (1) or multi-turn (131,072 points/turn x 4096 turns) (1) absolute encoder helping to ensure angular position accuracy of the shaft less than ± 1.3 minutes of arc.

This coder allows you to:

• give the absolute position of the motor so as to achieve flow synchronization,

• measure the speed of the servo motor using the associated Lexium 32 servo drive; this information is used by the servo drive speed regulator,

• measure the position information for the servo drive position regulator,

• transmit data from the servo motor to the servo drive, which allows automatic identification of the motor when starting the servo drive.

BSH servo motors, consisting of a three-phase stator and a 6 to 10-pole rotor (depending on the model) with Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) magnets, include:

• A carcass protected by opaque black RAL 9005 paint.

• A 4-point axial fixing flange.

• A shaft end, smooth or with key (depending on the model).

• A straight male waterproof screw-in connector for connecting the power cable (2).

• A straight male waterproof screw-in connector for connecting the control cable (encoder) (2).

SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC is a French industrial group with international dimension, which manufactures and offers electricity management products, automation and solutions adapted to these trades.

Having consolidated its financial base thanks to the arrival of new shareholders and the simplification of its structures, Schneider began its redeployment at the end of the 1980s. Having joined Merin Gerin in the group (1986), the general management embarked on a acquisition strategy, marked by the integration of important companies that will become the core of the current group:
