ABB general purpose drive
The ACS550 frequency converter, part of ABB's automation product range, is available from stock. It can be controlled in several ways: by a micro-console (with or without integrated assistant), by a traditional wired connection or even via a fieldbus network. It is a standard product that is easy to choose, intuitive to use and offers excellent connectivity.
Fields of application
The ACS550 is designed for a very wide range of applications including pumps, fans and conveyors (constant torque duty). It is the ideal solution if you are above all looking for simplicity of installation, commissioning and use, and if you do not need any “tailor-made” or sophisticated functions.
The key points
− FlashDrop power off programming tool
− Intelligent control panel for assistance and intuitive use of the drive
− Self oscillator for better attenuation of harmonics
− Flux vector control
− Coated boards for harsh environments
− Category C2 RFI filter (1st environment) integrated as standard
− All the flexibility of fieldbuses with integrated Modbus coupler and a wide choice of network couplers to be mounted internally
− UL, cUL, CE, C-Tick and GOST R marking
− Compliance with the European RoHS directive
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
The EMC product standard (EN 61800-3 + amendment A11 [2000]) lays down EMC requirements and test methods for variable speed electrical power drive systems (including motor and cable) within the EU. The modified standard 61800-3 (2004) in force and applied since October 1, 2007. The standards relating to EMC, such as EN 55011 or EN 61000-6-3/4, apply to industrial equipment and household appliances, including the components they incorporate. Drives conforming to EN 61800-3 always conform to comparable product categories of EN 55011 and EN 61000-6-3/4. The opposite is not necessarily true. The EN 55011 and EN 61000-6-3/4 standards do not specify any cable length and do not require the motor to be connected to a load.
