As standard, the brake is powered by a brake control housed either in the motor terminal box or in the control cabinet. It is possible to choose from a wide range of brake controls. In addition to the various connection voltages, you will also find brake controls dedicated to the specific needs of certain applications.

With acceleration function for high starting rates (through use of the patented two-coil system, e.g. BGE.. / BME.. / BSG..)

With quick release function for high stopping accuracy (via integrated or additional quick-switching relays, e.g. BMP.. / BSR.. / BUR..)

With integrated preheating function (BMH..)

With additional 24 V DC control inputs for PLC or variable speed drive (e.g. BMK.. or BMV..)

As a safety component for safe disconnection of the power supply to the brake (BST..)

On customer request, brakes up to BE2 are also available for operation with an external DC voltage source or additional brake control.

Very short reaction times when switching onBE.. brakes are equipped with the patented SEW two-coil system. When using special SEW brake controls with acceleration function, the brake control ensures that only the pull-up coil first and then the holding coil (complete winding) are energized. The strong magnetization (high inrush current) of the inrush coil makes it possible to obtain an extremely short inrush time on large brakes, without the saturation limit being reached. The disk is released very quickly and the engine starts almost without losses.

Cabinet mounting of BM.. controls

BMS, BME, BMP, BMV and BMK boxes are similar. The supply voltage and the auxiliary or control terminals are connected to terminals 1 to 4; connections 13 to 15 are reserved for the three connections to the BE brake.
