The BMX P34 1000 and Performance BMX P34 2 ... standard processors of the Modicon M340 automation platform manage the monorack or multirack PLC stations, whose slots can be equipped with:
- input / output modules "On or Off",
- analog input / output modules,
- communication modules: Modbus / TCP Ethernet network, AS Interface sensor / actuator bus and RTU (Remote Terminal Unit),
- business modules: counting, axis control and serial link.

The 5 processors offered are distinguished by their memory capacity, processing speeds, number of inputs / outputs and number and type of communication ports.

Moreover, depending on the model, they propose at most and in a non
cumulative:
- from 512 to 1024 "all or nothing" inputs / outputs,
- from 128 to 256 analog inputs / outputs,
- from 20 to 36 business channels (counting, motion control and process or RTU serial link),
from 0 to 3 Ethernet Modbus / TCP or Ethernet / IP networks (with or without built-in port and up to 2 network modules).
- 4 sensor / actuator buses AS-Interface V3 "Full Extended master", profile M4.0.

Depending on the model, Modicon M340 processors include:
a 10BASE-T / 100BASE-TX Modbus / TCP Ethernet port,
- a CANopen machines & installations bus port,
- a Modbus serial link or Character Mode port.
Each processor has a USB-type TER socket (for connecting a programming terminal or Magelis XBT GT / GK / GTW operator dialogue terminal, HMI GTW, HMI STU / STO) that comes with a memory card allowing :
- the backup of the application (program, symbols and constants)
- Activation of a basic Web server of Transparent Ready B10 class integrated Ethernet port (depending on model).

This memory card can be replaced by another type of memory card, to be ordered separately, supporting:
- also the backup of the application and the activation of the base Web server,
- a zone of 8 MB or 128 MB according to option card for the storage of additional data organized in file system (directories and sub-directories).

SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC is a French industrial group with international dimension, which manufactures and offers electricity management products, automation and solutions adapted to these trades.

Having consolidated its financial base thanks to the arrival of new shareholders and the simplification of its structures, Schneider began its redeployment at the end of the 1980s. Having joined Merin Gerin in the group (1986), the general management embarked on a acquisition strategy, marked by the integration of important companies that will become the core of the current group:
