Safety controller versions

The safety controller is available in 2 versions:

XPS-MC16 8 control outputs for 16 safety inputs, 6 transistor safety outputs, 2 x 2 safety relay outputs

XPS-MC32 8 control outputs for 32 safety inputs, 6 transistor safety outputs, 2 x 2 safety relay outputs

Launch lock

• Once the supply voltage has been connected, the start interlock system prevents starting until the already existing input signals are disconnected and then reactivated (e.g. opening and then closing a gate- screen).

Enable circuit

• Switches the control voltage for the part of the machine which causes a potentially dangerous movement.

Setup mode

• Operating state of the device in which the configuration is processed, loaded and checked.

Control output

• Output with a test signal and only used to supply the safety inputs of the XPS-MC. Since each control output works with a different test signal, cross-circuits between safety outputs connected to different control outputs can be detected, as well as the presence of disturbing voltages or short-circuits at the mass.

Mode of operation / service

• Operating state of the XPS-MC in which the connected switching elements are monitored and the safety outputs connected.

Safety output

• Relay or static outputs controlled by the XPS-MC logic and which are able to disconnect the control devices placed downstream.

Security entrance

• Monitored input for connecting switching elements. If different control outputs c1...c8 are used to supply the safe inputs, cross-circuits, interference voltages and short-circuits to ground are detected.

Synchronous time

• Maximum permissible delay between the appearance of two input signals.

TER (Connector for Terminal)

• 8-pole RJ45 connector for connecting a PC for configuration or diagnostics (Bus system with Modbus protocol) and for connecting other Modbus modules (PLC, terminals, etc...).

Since its creation, the Telemecanique brand has been pursuing an innovation policy, which has become one of the world’s first references in automatism management.

The story of Telemécanique is read through that of its inventions, initiated with the launch of the first contactor on bars. A patent filed the same year of its acquisition, in 1924! It will develop contactors D became world reference. The 1980s marked the acquisition of Telemechanics by Schneider Electric (1988).
