The FM 352 function module is a one-channel electronic cam that is implemented in the S7-300 PLC. The FM 352 can control both rotary axes and linear axes. As displacement sensors, proximity sensors as well as incremental and absolute encoders (SSI) can be connected. As a slave, the FM 352 can also listen for the SSI telegram of an absolute encoder.
You can set a maximum of 128 race cams or time cams, which you can freely divide on 32 cam tracks. The status of the first 13 cam tracks is output on the digital outputs of the module. The functions and settings of the electronic cam are described in the following chapters.
You can use several FM 352s in combination. Combinations with other FM / CP modules are also possible. The combination with an FM 351 positioning module is a typical application.
You can control an FM 352 centrally or remotely via PROFINET or PROFIBUS DP.
