General specifications
The following section gives a brief overview of the features available in SM SERCOS.
• SERCOS Class B compliance - Torque, velocity and position control modes supported.
• Supported data rates (bits/sec): 2 Mb, 4 Mb, 8 Mb and 16 Mb.
• Minimum network cycle time 250µs.
• 2 high-speed digital probe inputs for position capture.
• Support for type 7 telegrams - User definable application telegrams are supported in addition to standard telegrams.
• Support for additional IDNs - Polling and reader-controlled homing functions are included,
• Direct access to drive parameters using additional manufacturer-specific IDNs.
• The drive's digital control loops (current, speed and position) are synchronized with the SERCOS master.
• Synchronous access to SM-Applications allowing specialized solutions to be implemented in SM-Applications.
• Second encoder support for 1.5 axis machines (not for use with SM-SERCOS Position Loop).
• Supports Unidrive SP and Digitax ST in Servo, Closed Loop and Open Loop Modes.
