The UD71 provides the ability to read and write values in the UNIDRIVE drive parameters and can act as a slave module.

The Control Techniques UD71 is a plugin communications interface module for the Unidrive Classic, which is now obsolete. The UD71 offers flexibility to read and write values to and from the drives parameters and can act as a slave on a network and transmit data when interrogated by a master controller. Typical external connections could be a PC, PLC, UD70 to MD29. RS485 ports support multi-drop communication networks with up to 81 nodes via network repeaters. Data collisions are avoided by assigning a unique serial address to each node. RS232 port suitable for connecting directly to a 9 pin PC serial port.
CONTROL TECHNIQUES UD71 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
- Supports data rates from 4800 bits/sec to 19200 bit/sec
- RS232 port and RS485 port
- RS485 port supports 4 modes of communications: ANSI x 3.28-2.5-A$ protocol in slave mode (4-wire), ANSI x 3.28-2.5-A4 protocol in slave mode (2-wire), Output Module - the drive continously scales and transmits the value of a user defined souce parameter to the port. Input Module - the drive receives the continously transmitted data, multiplies by a scaling factor and writes to a user defined destination parameter.
- RS232 allow simple one to one connection to a 9 way PC serial port. Ideal for commissioning.
