The conditioning of the systems

In the field of industrial maintenance, the repair can be carried out in a preventive or curative way.

In each situation, it is important to provide the right parts.

Even if manufacturers try to reduce their stock as much as possible, in some cases, they choose prevention. Systems are often purchased upstream of a breakdown or accident and are therefore stored directly on site. That’s why conditioning and stock management are ONE of the pillars of the industry.

In this configuration, the conditioning must ensure optimal storage, without external aggression which could affect the proper functioning of the system.

So, how to meet the issues related to conditioning?

TO PROTECT

The conditioning must guarantee to manufacturers an optimal and flawless transport. In the industrial sector, exchanges are international, so the protection of systems is done on 3 axes.

  1. First, transport. Systems must be protected from different means of transport and long distances. The first indication of protection is conditioning and packaging. Systems must be placed in a protected box with bubble wrap or multi-sheet cardboard. A « fragile » label can be added if the part is, to inform carriers to handle boxes with care. Thus, the system is protected from collisions and accidents.









  2. Then, the security of the goods. It is imperative that systems are placed in sealed boxes to avoid any risk of theft or opening. A warranty label can be added directly on the part to guarantee to the manufacturer that nobody has had access to the part and its contents during transport.

  3. Finally, external degradations linked to the environment. Protect the parts ordered against rain or air humidity… The conditioning must be appropriate for the systems to be conditioned. Strong, clean, dry, waterproof, easy to handle and stackable.

Beyond protection during transport, it is necessary that the ordered parts can be preserved over times, without degradations.To do this, a systems conservation process based on several essential points must be adopted:

  1. The cleaning : systems must be cleaned of dirt, impurities and bacteria that could affect their functioning over times.

  2. The conditioning: it must guarantee the part’s preservation over times in order to protect them from external contaminations such as humidity or dust, but also from specific contaminations such as oil or oxidation.

When cleaning and conditioning are done properly, they allow an optimal storage. Indeed, cleaned and protected systems ensure a comfortable storage period for manufacturers who no longer have to worry about this issue.

Which solution ?

Conditioning is a major stake for manufacturers, as the transport, the conservation and the storage of parts.

The current conditioning trend is the shrink wrap packaging sealer. This machine allows parts to be filmed in order to guarantee their protection and conservation.

This conditioning technique has become an asset in industry (medical, food and electronics). Recipients receive a wrapped unit in a protective and transparent film, which allows them to preview the part without opening the package.

By using this technique, companies guarantee their customers full transparency but also useful packaging for stock management.

The know-how

At Standard Exchange Industry, we are always working to improve our conditioning and shipping processes. Thus, we can guarantee to our partners the best storage conditions and transparency on our processes and systems.

  1. As soon as the system is ready to be shipped, our technical team will perform a thorough cleaning. The systems are then dried in a low temperature oven (60 degrees) to prevent the risk of oxidation.

  2. When the system is cleaned, it is then tested on our test benches in our technical department, always by our technical team.

  3. Then comes the conditioning step. After months of research, we offer two types of packaging, fully adapted to the system and to industrial storage conditions. The shrink film perfectly matches the shape of the part and guarantees space saving and a dust-free system. The antistatic film is suitable for small and medium electronic systems, and guarantees systems free of dust, oil, oxidation and humidity, as long as the conditioning isn’t opened.




  4. A warranty label is placed on each system to certify that the part has not been opened from shipment to delivery.

  5. The packaged system is placed in a box with suitable dimensions. The parcel allows to add additional protection but also to guarantee safe transport.

  6. The last step is optional. When it’s necessary, we take care to add a "FRAGILE" label on the box to instruct carriers to handle the box with care.
